Welcome to my story
Discover the many facets of my life. As a life coach, I'm dedicated to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. Through my love of textiles, I curate a collection of high-quality cotton fabrics for creative souls. And as a Shopify creative, I help small businesses establish a strong online presence.
The fabric shop started as a small idea when I was pregnant with my second child in 2013. I wanted to provide a local service to East Lothian offering fun and contemporary fabrics but then I had my third child and so this idea went on the back burner. In 2020, my eldest child had started sewing on her vintage Singer sewing machine. I had difficulty finding contemporary cotton locally for her to sew a skirt so I decided to do something about it!
During 2023, I worked for a thriving local small business to update and maintain their Shopify website. I have also enjoyed helping other small businesses maintaining their website and would love to help more!
In 2024, I realised I wanted to go back to my roots and build a career based on my Psychology degree. I accredited as an Associate Certified Coach in February 2026 with the International Coaching Federation. And so my story continues as I love to coach either in person or over Zoom.
So instead of having three different websites, I wished to bring them altogether as a collective of all the things that interest me. Take your pick as to which one suits you today!

The story behind the start up
This shop started as a small idea when I was pregnant with my second child in 2013.
Why is the business called Rosemary Wild?
It’s my name!
When I was creating the business, I was going to use a completely different name. I asked my cousin to design my logo as she’s a fantastic artist and lives on the same street. I bumped into her on a dog walk a couple of days later. Her family had been discussing the name and said that I had a fab maiden name so why not use it? It really wouldn’t have occurred to me to use it but she had the insider family knowledge to know my maiden name!
Why is it so important to be eco-friendly?
As a household, we are very aware of our recycling and environmental responsibilities and try to minimise these wherever possible.
I naturally wish to include this awareness in the business and reflect this as much as I can from the way I source fabrics to how I package your orders.
Why do I choose the fabrics I stock?
Medium weight cotton fabrics are ideal for patchwork, quilting, crafts, dressmaking and so many more projects. However, most shops have a never ending choice of colours and patterns. It can be quite soul destroying wading through their menus trying to find the fabric you're looking for. Quite the opposite effect you should have - of joy and sparkle of having found a beautiful fabric for your next project!
I curate a small selection of the most beautiful fabrics that I have access to. I choose my fabric ranges carefully and they're all premium 100% cotton. I think they are beautiful fabrics so it is a very personal curation of the hundreds of fabrics that are available. And then once the fabric has sold out, that's very often the last of that design as new designs are continually being produced so it's rare that one is continued so the search begins again!
However, I also wanted to provide natural fabric without any plastic in it which is why I stock 100% cotton which is OKEO-TEX®️ certified where possible.
My Sewing Journey
I started sewing on a vintage Singer sewing machine when I was eight and although my interest has waxed and waned over the years, it is always something I come back to. It has served me well as I’ve made all the curtains in my flats and houses over the years – saved a small fortune!
Now, I want to focus back on the fun side of sewing and make lovely things. I have a selection of sewing machines – I still have my vintage Singer sewing machine dating back to 1939. The lady who owned our house before us could see I loved sewing so much and she left her 1973 Bernina for me to use.
My mother gave me a Brother sewing machine for my 16th birthday. However, it finally gave up after sewing all those curtains. I now have a Janome 725S.
Where is the shop?
I live in the seaside village of Gullane in East Lothian, Scotland.
I'm so delighted to offer a local fabric shop service to East Lothian - there's free next day delivery to the EH31 postcode.
I am looking for a new stockist in East Lothian so that you can touch and feel the fabrics. I'll update the website once that happens!
Why do I develop websites as well?
I also develop websites. I had my Shopify website for my fabric business and I really enjoyed tinkering with it and being curious about what you could do with it. This led me to an understanding as to how websites work and into working with other small businesses.
Each project is unique - it could be just getting someone who's wanting to have the structure in place to then take on themselves or it could be the whole website being done for them.
I also offer ad-hoc website updating/maintenance so that a small business isn't tied into an ongoing contract.
The main focus is being a handy help to small businesses as I know how the website can slip to the bottom of the list. And also they don't want to pay the earth for what is now a requirement in business - and with today's user friendly website platforms, there is no need to charge high costs. By providing initial structures, the small business can start tinkering themselves, perhaps with a guiding hand, and produce a website authentic to their own needs.
Why did I move into Coaching
I found my Psychology degree at St Andrews University so interesting and I wished to return back to the subject but in an applied way. For eight months starting in October 2024, I trained through Optimus Coach Academy which provides holistic coach training. It focuses on psychology-based coaching approaches, backed up by scientific research. These include Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Psychodynamic approaches as well as normative coaching methodologies.
This specific training created the foundation for me to be able to work with clients on a more transformational level. By focusing on what is going on for my client’s brain and nervous system, I'm able to coach on a deeper level.
What Coaching Qualificiations do I hold?
I gained my Level 2 ICF Professional Diploma from Optimus Coach Academy in July 2025 which required 50 hours of coaching practice outwith the course.
I became accredited as an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation in February 2026. This means that I needed:
✨a minimum of 60 hours of coaching education - I received 175 hours.
✨100 hours of coaching experience (including at least 75 paid hours).
✨10 hours of mentor coaching over three months.
✨Successful completion of a performance evaluation.
✨Passing score on the ICF ACC Exam
