🦋It's the Big Butterfly Count! And there's still time to take part as it stops next Sunday 6th August. We have a quiet weekend ahead so I've downloaded the identification chart and we're going to see what we can find in our little patch of Scotland.
🦋What is the The Big Butterfly Count? It's a UK-wide survey aimed at helping assess the health of our environment simply by counting the amount and type of butterflies (and some day-flying moths) we see. It's been going since 14th July so you can check the interactive map on their website to see what has been spotted so far.
🦋Why not have a go when you're having a quiet cup of coffee in the garden? All you need to do is 15 minutes watching butterflies and moths and record them on the website.
🦋What an amazing way to help contribute to conservation science? And all whilst you have a daily cup of tea!
