Boro Slow Stitching Workshops in Edinburgh

Boro Slow Stitching Workshops in Edinburgh

🪡Sustainable Stitching! Have you heard of "boro"? Derived from the Japanese word for "rags", it describes the Japanese technique of continually mending fabric.

📆There is a brilliant class happening in Edinburgh next week during the Edinburgh Fringe so that you can learn all about it. Sue is an experienced teacher and textile enthusiast from Sunshine Designs and is running slow-stitching workshops. It's everyday at 1pm between 7th and 11th August 2023 at the Royal Scots Club.

🧵The workshop will involve an introduction to Boro, demonstration of stitches, and how to lay out fabrics. All equipment will be supplied, including beautifully curated fabrics and threads, and you will have your own piece of Boro-inspired textile art to take away with you at the end. There is absolutely no experience required, it's suitable for all!

✨And bonus for those with families, Sue is also running a class for children at 11am for each of those days too! You can make rubbings, print, make collages and all kinds of things! Create an Edinburgh landscape including Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle, collage Greyfriars Bobby, or make a floral clock!
